1. What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address, display name, optional profile information you choose to add (such as avatar), authentication provider identifiers (e.g. Google sign-in subject), and a hashed password if you sign up with email/password.
While you use the platform we record quiz attempts, answers, scores, XP, level, streaks, achievements, progress within categories, language preference, and time stamps. We also log basic technical data (browser type, approximate region, anonymized analytics events) to keep the service reliable.
2. How we use it
We use this data to operate the platform: authenticate you, save your progress, show your level and achievements, personalize learning recommendations, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve the educational experience. We also use your email address to send essential service messages (security alerts, billing receipts when applicable, account-related notices).
3. Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of (a) contractual necessity to deliver the service you signed up for, (b) your consent for optional features such as marketing communications, (c) our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the platform, and (d) compliance with applicable legal obligations.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, database, authentication, analytics, payment processing) acting as data processors under appropriate agreements. When you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), that provider also processes your authentication.
5. Storage and security
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security controls (encryption in transit, role-based access, regular backups). No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute protection but work to reduce risk.
6. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal profile, quiz attempts, progress, achievements, certificates, and roles. Aggregate, anonymized statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and similar laws) you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict processing of, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings. For other requests, contact us at the email below.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage for essential platform functionality (authentication session, language preference) and limited analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.
9. Children
DataQuiz is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal data without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Non-monetary platform features
DataQuiz is an educational platform. It does not offer gambling, betting, lotteries, prize draws, chance-based games, cash prizes, financial rewards, or virtual currency that can be exchanged for real-world value. XP, credits, achievements, ranks, streaks, and certificates have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash or external goods.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
